lol. ok, so, here goes.
I'd rather skip the whole bookport transfer CD thing and send files directly to my bp. However, it says it can't read unfiltered files.
The question remains. How do I unfilter them? Can I unfilter them?

hi,
text files, word documents and other such files need to use bookport transfer. For mp3 files, you can copy the files directly onto the bp itself.
The transfer software is quite easy to use, as it is modeled after the open dialog in windows. It will come up as soon as the bp is plugged in. i own a road runner also, and believe me, the software on this is a huge improvement.

Jen, go to to APH.org and search their product catalog for BookPort. You can read all about it.

lol. thanks Sean. (least, think that's your name.)
I figured out that I have to use the transfer CD thing, but good to know I can copy mp3 directly.
thanks.

I have been thinking about getting one for use with audible.com. Has anyone done this? Can you explain how to do this?

yes i have, and it is pretty straightforward. The manual, which you can view online even if you don't own the product, explains it better than i can, but it is a pretty simple process, you don't even have to use the audible manager, though I think it needs to be installed.
